Edit: This event has been rescheduled to June 10!!
The Victorian IT Teachers Association is holding a professional development day on Open Source Software for Education. I'll be presenting three sessions on the day.
An introductory session on the significance of Open Source Software for education, which is a rework of the Open Road talk I presented at last year's K12 Open Minds conference in Indianapolis, USA.
Second up is a Tutorial on Inkscape - my favourite open source application. I'll revise the material used for last year's VITTA conference and this year's linux.conf.au based on feedback to deliver a tight 1 hr hands on tutorial on getting up to speed with this Vector drawing application.
I'll run the third session in partnership with Paula Christophersen. We'll be leading an interactive workshop mapping Open Source ICT tools and skills to the Victorian curriculum, allowing teachers to reflect and begin to weave this into their own classroom practice.
Download the Flyer or go straight to the VITTA site to Register online.
